The current landscape for Newly Qualified Accountants...
It’s an exciting time to be a Newly Qualified Accountant embarking on the next step of your career.
Across both Commerce & Industry and in Practice, job vacancies are back to pre-pandemic levels. The resurgence is clear, the need to hire is most certainly there! This means there is plenty of choice in the market for job seekers, and the demand for those NQs is fiercely competitive.
It has also resulted in organisations being very specific and making sure they are hiring the right person. If you are that right person, you will be justifiably rewarded.
Despite budgets still being tight in some areas, the high demand has resulted in salaries being pushed up and benefits packages being enhanced in an attempt to attract the Newly Qualified talent companies and firms require. Alongside this, progression opportunities are clear, structured and can be quick!
Unsurprisingly, flexibility is a key request from job seekers, and hiring organisations have had to accommodate for this - it looks like hybrid working is here to stay for most.
