Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join the Primary Care Service Team in a well-established, ambitious company. This role will focus primarily on preventative maintenance of Primary Care products (mobility aids and appliances); however, it may also require you to assist with the repair of equipment. While primarily based in the Cork region the geographical area to be covered will not be restricted to this area only and flexibility will be required, particularly around the Munster region.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Field Service Engineering Team Lead and will correspond with the Engineering Administration teams daily and will also work closely with the Service Business Manager and Technical Support Specialist.
Candidate Location: North Cork area
Responsibilities:
● To inspect, repair and service medical equipment in the field.
● Co-ordinate & conduct installations, equipment maintenance, repair, and breakdown support at customer sites and to ensure that any work undertaken complies with the relevant manufacturers' quality procedure relating to that service or activity.
● Ensure that equipment downtime is minimal and that your preventative plans are continually monitored and actioned in a timely manner.
● Provide engineer reports and all relevant supporting documentation to customer support administration for traceability, further processing and invoicing.
● Use Engineer Mobile App device to record accurately work carried out.
● Keep accurate account van stock & complete boot stock checks as required.
● Access parts codes and services manuals to ensure product service/repair is in line with Manufacturer's guidelines.
● Promote the Service Department ensuring the highest standard of Customer Service and satisfaction is achieved always.
● Any other activities as determined necessary by the Engineering Team Lead or Business Manager.
What are the role requirements?
● Technically competent with strong trouble-shooting and analytical skills.
● Strong diagnostic, fault finding / problem solving, and judgement skills are essential in this role.Good mechanical and electrical knowledge of fault finding.
● Ability to take responsibility for all work in your region and prioritise/manage same efficiently, therefore excellent organisational and timekeeping skills are essential.
● Proactively manage and develop client relationships while delivering exceptional customer service to ensure successful partnerships are maintained - you should be customer focused with a courteous and professional manner.
● Ability to work effectively with colleagues throughout the business and utilise a team approach to accomplish goals.
● Excellent interpersonal skills - you should be an effective communicator with excellent written & verbal skills.
● Flexibility & availability to travel, sometimes at short notice with the ability to thrive under pressure along with a strong desire to succeed.
● Ability to work on your own initiative but also comfortable working in a team environment.
● Good organisational and timekeeping skills.
Top performers would have:
● Will have a proven track record in an engineering role.
● The ideal candidate will have 3+ years proven experience in a field-based engineering role, preferably in the medical device sector or a related industry however this is not essential.
● Full clean Drivers Licence is essential.
● Computer literate.
● Successful completion of Garda Vetting.
