A rapidly growing and innovative specialty finance company with global operations and a high-profile client base is seeking an experienced structured finance / capital markets lawyer to join its legal team. Based in its centrally located Dublin office, this role will work directly with business groups on the execution and management of sophisticated transactions.

This candidate will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel in the US and work closely with the CEO in Dublin and the Investment and Origination teams to negotiate and close new originations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Execution: Work closely with one or more business groups negotiating financings based upon form documentation.
- Transactional Oversight: Act as the front-line "desk lawyer" charged with maintaining documentation standards and transaction compliance for the firm's deals while negotiating terms with business groups and clients.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Compliance, Credit, and Risk teams, as well as managing relationships with outside counsel.
Skills & Background Required
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Experience: 2-8 years of transactional experience in financing transactions, structured finance, securitization, or loan/receivables finance with a top-rated law firm. Experience at a major law firm, global bank, or investment management firm is highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Strong experience in capital markets/securities laws and negotiating a variety of financing structures (e.g., repo, stock loan, TRS). Understanding of rating agency structured financing requirements for rated debt is essential.
- Jurisdiction: A law degree and the appropriate qualification to practice as an in-house counsel in Dublin, Ireland. Additional recognition will be given to candidates with EU and Irish transactional and/or regulatory experience.
- Drafting & Negotiation: Hands-on drafting and negotiating experience at all stages of transactions, from term sheet through to funding.
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to think commercially and strategically in relation to legal and business issues and provide solutions.
- Soft Skills: First-rate judgment, excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to prioritize effectively under pressure in a collaborative environment.
