About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join their growing procurement team in Cork. This is a key role focused on managing indirect procurement, with a primary focus on IT categories including software, hardware, cloud services, infrastructure, and professional services.
The successful candidate will drive sourcing strategies, optimise supplier performance, and deliver value across IT and other indirect spend areas, while ensuring alignment with internal policies and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies across indirect categories, with a focus on IT and professional services.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities including tendering, contract negotiation, supplier selection, and onboarding.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders including IT, Legal, Marketing, Finance, and Compliance to understand business requirements and align procurement outcomes.
- Negotiate commercial terms, service levels, and pricing agreements with new and existing vendors.
- Ensure all procurement activity complies with company policies, GDPR, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage ongoing vendor relationships to ensure quality of service, risk mitigation, and cost efficiency.
- Lead cost optimisation and value creation initiatives through spend analysis and strategic sourcing.
- Support procurement reporting and performance metrics for senior leadership.
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on IT and indirect categories.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
- Solid understanding of IT procurement practices including software licensing, SaaS agreements, infrastructure, and IT services.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g. SAP, Ariba, or similar platforms).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Relevant degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field; CIPS qualification is an advantage.
