Senior Payroll Specialist

We are wirking with an established company based in Cork who is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist to manage their Irish payroll operations.

This position is based on site in the office in Cork (1 day work from home available)
Responsibilities:
As the Senior Payroll Specialist, you will partner closely with Finance, HR, and external vendors to ensure flawless execution of Irish payroll operations:
- End-to-End Processing: Manage and process weekly, 4-weekly, and monthly payrolls.
- Vendor Management: Prepare, validate, and submit payroll data to external payroll providers, ensuring total accuracy and timely sign-off.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure strict compliance with local statutory regulations, tax requirements, SOX controls, and audit standards.
- Financial Support: Drive month-end close activities and swiftly resolve both internal and external audit matters.
- Relationship Building: Act as a key liaison to build strong working relationships with HR, Finance, and third-party partners.
- Query Resolution: Maintain pristine payroll records and act as the main point of contact for employee payroll queries.
Requirements:

Experience - 3+ years in a similar payroll position.

Qualifications: A professional qualification as an Accounting Technician, or in Payroll/HR is highly preferred.

Tech Savvy: Strong working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and Time & Attendance (T&A) tools.

Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Irish payroll legislation and a commitment to staying updated on regulatory changes.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills, a team-player mindset, and the ability to handle sensitive information with complete professionalism
