Overview
An established and patient-focused general practice based in Cork city centre is seeking a Practice Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, drive administrative efficiency, and support the delivery of high-quality care.
This is a key leadership role for someone with strong organisational and people management skills, ideally with experience in healthcare or a similar regulated environment. The position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work closely with a small, committed clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations across reception, scheduling, and administrative workflows
Coordinate staff rotas, leave planning, and handle HR-related matters
Support budgeting, invoicing, payroll coordination, and processing healthcare claims
Maintain up-to-date policies and assist with regulatory compliance (e.g. HIQA standards)
Oversee practice IT systems and ensure staff are well-supported
Act as a liaison between clinical and administrative teams
Promote a positive patient experience and handle feedback professionally
Key Requirements
Essential:
Previous experience in a management or supervisory role
Strong communication and organisational skills
Proficiency in IT systems (e.g. healthcare software or similar platforms)
Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
Availability to work 4-5 mornings per week onsite
Desirable:
Experience in general practice, healthcare, or primary care
Understanding of Irish healthcare system
