Morgan McKinley have been exclusively retained by an exciting business in the Energy sector who are an energy project developer and asset owner. The company is actively developing an ambitious pipeline of energy projects which support the energy transition to a lower carbon intensity electrical system. The company is in growth mode and is seeking a senior finance professional to join its team to manage and develop financial and accounting processes and to participate in energy project developments.
Key Responibilities:
- Lead funding strategy; manage investor, lender, and strategic partner relationships; structure and negotiate JDAs and joint ventures.
- Oversee financial modelling and valuation of development projects; lead financial input into commercial negotiations and route-to-market decisions.
- Review and challenge JV management accounts and shareholder reporting; engage majority shareholders and asset managers on assumptions, costs, and performance;
- Oversee SPV and consolidated group financial management; manage intercompany arrangements (equity, shareholder loans, fees); maintain cash/liquidity visibility at SPV and group level;
- Oversee accounting, audit, tax, and statutory reporting; ensure strong internal controls and governance; prepare Board/investor reporting;
- Manage group and SPV liquidity forecasting; lead budgeting/reforecasting; oversee development expenditure and capital allocation; support project prioritisation decisions.
- Partner with the CEO on company strategy and growth; contribute to portfolio composition, exit timing, and partnership strategy.
Qualifications and experience:
- Experience in Energy or related field, including structuring and finance related to project development activity an advantage
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
- Chartered / Certified Accountant or equivalent finance qualification.
- Deal / Transaction exposure
- Excellent communication experience
