Morgan McKinley are partnering with a well-established and growing organisation within the manufacturing and distribution sector to recruit a Customer Service Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable business with a strong presence across Ireland and the UK, supporting a long-standing network of retail and trade customers.
The successful candidate will lead and develop the customer service function within a key division of the business, ensuring consistently high service standards while driving operational improvements and supporting commercial objectives. This role will be based in the West of Ireland, with regular travel required to other company locations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide direction to the Customer Service team, ensuring excellent service delivery across all customer touchpoints.
- Manage, mentor, and develop teams across multiple locations, fostering a positive, solution-focused culture.
- Drive improvements in customer satisfaction, managing escalated queries and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
- Work closely with the commercial and sales teams to support field sales colleagues with timely updates, insights, and customer solutions.
- Identify and implement process improvements across customer service systems, procedures, and communication channels.
- Analyse customer feedback and operational data to identify trends and recommend service enhancements.
- Develop and deliver training programmes to improve service skills, product knowledge, and team performance.
- Conduct performance reviews and support career development within the customer service team.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure product availability and efficient order fulfilment.
- Represent the customer service function in internal meetings, ensuring clear communication between departments and field teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders to support overall business objectives.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a customer service leadership role, ideally within a manufacturing, distribution, or related environment.
- Proven experience managing and developing teams across multiple locations.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong listening ability.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Good IT and systems knowledge (ERP experience advantageous).
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to support wider business goals.
- Willingness to travel regularly to other company locations across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
