Technology Risk Assurance Senior Manager

Our client is a growing professional services and advisory organisation providing audit, risk, consulting and assurance services to a diverse portfolio of domestic and international clients.
The organisation works extensively with mid-market businesses, financial services firms, technology companies, public-sector organisations and other highly regulated industries, supporting clients as they navigate increasingly complex technology, regulatory and risk environments.
As part of continued growth, the organisation is expanding its specialist Technology Risk Assurance capability and is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join the team.
This is a senior leadership opportunity within a specialist Technology Risk and Governance function.
The successful candidate will lead client engagements across IT audit, technology risk, cybersecurity, ERP assurance, IT governance and regulatory compliance. You will work across both assurance and advisory assignments, partnering with senior client stakeholders to identify technology risks, assess control environments and provide practical recommendations.
The role offers significant exposure to complex organisations and regulated environments, with opportunities to contribute to the continued development and growth of the Technology Risk Assurance practice.
Lead a portfolio of technology risk and IT assurance engagements, including IT audits supporting financial statement audits and standalone advisory projects.
Assess IT General Controls (ITGCs), automated controls and system-generated reports across major ERP environments.
Deliver advisory assignments covering areas such as:
IT governance and operating models
Technology regulatory compliance
Cybersecurity and information security
ERP controls and optimisation
ICT third-party and supplier risk
Incident response and operational resilience
Support wider audit teams in identifying key technology dependencies and evaluating technology controls relevant to financial reporting.
Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of technology controls and develop practical, risk-based recommendations.
Prepare and review risk assessments, audit documentation, workpapers and client reports.
Manage engagement budgets, timelines, resources and delivery quality.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders.
Lead, coach and develop junior and mid-level team members.
Contribute to the development of internal methodologies, propositions and technology risk assurance services.
Identify opportunities to support business development and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
The ideal candidate will have:
5-7+ years' experience in IT audit, technology risk, technology assurance or ERP assurance.
Experience gained within a professional services, consulting or internal audit environment.
Proven experience managing end-to-end IT audit engagements, from planning and risk assessment through to fieldwork and reporting.
Strong understanding of IT dependencies, business process controls and systems supporting financial reporting.
Experience evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of IT controls.
Experience translating technology risks into clear, commercially relevant recommendations.
Exposure to regulatory and compliance-driven technology reviews, including areas such as SOX, PCAOB, DORA, GDPR or similar frameworks.
Experience managing teams and multiple client engagements simultaneously.
Strong understanding of the relationship between technology risk, financial reporting, governance and wider business risk.
Ideally, you will have:
A degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
A professional qualification such as CISA, CIA, ACA, CFA or equivalent would be advantageous.
Strong knowledge of IT audit methodologies, tools and assurance techniques.
Familiarity with frameworks including COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001 and COSO.
Experience with major ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle or Workday.
Good understanding of financial reporting processes and the role technology controls play within the wider audit environment.
Experience working within regulated sectors, particularly financial services, would be beneficial.
