We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Dutch team and help ensure quality across multiple locales and devices. In this role, you will execute test cases, analyze failures, file defects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes. You will work within a defined test strategy and follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while collaborating with QA Engineers, QA Managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality customer experiences
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute manual test cases following established SOPs and templates across existing components and features.
- Perform cultural and linguistic validation to ensure responses are accurate, natural, and appropriate for the target locale - including verifying basic localisation (date, time, units, currency) and linguistic elements (language fluency, dialect features or colloquialisms), speech quality ( fluidity, pitch, tone) and overall cultural relevancy
- Run automated test scripts, review automation failures, analyze root causes, and gather logs/traces to assist further debugging.
- Reproduce defect behavior in components and features to validate defects and confirm fixes.
- Perform defect verification to confirm that resolved defects no longer reproduce across relevant environments and locales.
- Create valid, well-documented defects with relevant details including steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual behavior, logs, and screenshots.
- Escalate when scripts fail or when actions needed deviate from established SOPs.
- Analyze test results and provide clear reporting on test execution status to stakeholders, partners and other teams.
- Install and configure software, tools, and test environments needed to execute tests.
- Recommend improvements to SOPs, tools, and metrics to increase testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support regression testing by executing test plans across multiple locales and endpoints.
- Collaborate with team members to unblock testing and ensure timely delivery of quality results.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing.
- Experience executing manual and automated test cases in a structured testing environment.
- Experience with defect creation and management using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Ability to review automation failures, identify root causes, and distinguish between real bugs and environment issues.
- Ability to read and interpret logs, traces, and error messages for debugging purposes.
- Experience with software installation and configuration across multiple platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux and Mobile devices).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for report writing and team collaboration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluent proficiency in one or more non-English languages Dutch, German and/ or French.
- Experience with cultural and linguistic validation - verifying that content is appropriate, natural, and accurate for specific languages and dialects.
- Experience testing voice assistants, conversational AI, or NLU-based products.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks and the ability to run and review automated scripts (e.g., Python, Ruby or Shell scripts).
- Experience with internationalization (i18n) or localization testing across multiple languages.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and understanding of the Software Test Life Cycle (STLC).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Interest in Languages, Social/Cultural Anthropology, Consumer product Internationalisation and Large Language Models.
