Lifecycle Technical Manager
Location: Remote / Dublin
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lifecycle Technical Manager to join a growing pharmaceutical organisation within its Operations Project Management Office.
This role is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of technical projects across the full product lifecycle: from technology transfer through to commercial manufacturing and continuous improvement. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality, compliant, and efficient delivery of all lifecycle activities.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Transfer & Project Delivery
- Lead end-to-end technology transfer projects across CMOs and internal teams
- Ensure robust, scalable, and compliant manufacturing processes are successfully introduced into commercial operations
- Oversee scale-up, trial, and validation batches, including on-site support where required
- Review and approve technical documentation (batch records, validation protocols, analytical data)
- Ensure continuity of supply through effective planning, risk management, and issue resolution
Manufacturing & Process Improvement
- Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead equipment upgrades and the introduction of new manufacturing technologies
- Manage validation and qualification of APIs, raw materials, and components
- Support troubleshooting of manufacturing and analytical issues in collaboration with CMOs
Product Lifecycle & Expansion Activities
- Manage technical activities supporting product registrations and territory expansions
- Plan and execute technical studies required for regulatory submissions
- Partner with Regulatory Affairs to ensure technical packages meet market-specific requirements
Technical Support & Governance
- Provide technical expertise for regulatory queries, deviations, CAPAs, and OOS investigations
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for CMOs and internal stakeholders
- Conduct risk assessments, gap analyses, and technical reviews
- Ensure compliance with GMP, ICH, and regulatory standards
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Manage, mentor, and develop team members
- Oversee project budgets and departmental resources
- Lead project governance, reporting, and escalation management
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, QA, RA, and NPI teams
About You
- Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
- 5+ years' experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, technical transfers, or lifecycle management
- Strong experience working with CMOs and cross-functional teams
- Solid knowledge of GMP, validation, and regulatory requirements
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous
