My client is looking for a Data Science Analyst to support insurance analytics teams across the UKI & EU business. This role focuses on supporting and developing data-driven products used in pricing, underwriting, fraud detection, and claims decisioning.
You will work closely with data science, engineering, product, and business stakeholders to improve existing analytics solutions, build new capabilities, and translate complex data into actionable insights. This is a 12-month contract role based in Dublin, Ireland.
Act as a data science and analytics specialist across multiple projects
Support the development and enhancement of data-driven insurance products
Build and maintain data processing and analytics workflows (ETL)
Collaborate with product, technology, and data engineering teams to deliver project objectives
Translate analytical outputs into clear, concise insights for business stakeholders
Provide regular project updates and present work when required
Support project planning, requirements definition, and execution
Contribute to shared team deliverables and support colleagues as needed
Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3 years' relevant professional experience (MSc/PhD time can count)
Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and analytics development
Solid understanding of data processing concepts (extraction, cleaning, transformation, multiple data formats)
Experience building data pipelines with automated testing
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Strong attention to data quality, consistency, and detail
Comfortable working across multiple projects in a collaborative environment
Strong communication skills and ability to explain analytical results clearly
Experience using Git and following coding and documentation best practices
Experience working with insurance data (pricing, underwriting, fraud, or claims)
Exposure to Azure ML or cloud-based analytics platforms
Experience with Azure Blob Storage and Azure Data Lake Gen2
Hands-on experience using Databricks for large-scale data processing
Basic understanding of insurance data models
Familiarity with Linux environments
Experience with BI and visualisation tools such as Power BI or R Shiny
