Corporate Finance Analyst / Advisor
Our client is a leading public sector financial and advisory organisation that provides asset and liability management services to government and supports a range of strategic national investment and infrastructure initiatives.

Working within a small and collaborative team, you will contribute to the oversight and financial analysis of major state-owned commercial organisations. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and gain exposure to strategic decision-making, investment analysis and corporate finance advisory activities.
The role reports to a Senior Corporate Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the financial oversight of a number of major commercial organisations from a shareholder perspective.
- Review and analyse financial reports including annual reports, interim accounts and corporate business plans.
- Evaluate borrowing, funding and capital expenditure proposals requiring government approval.
- Assess financial aspects of acquisitions, disposals and joint venture proposals.
- Review financial targets including dividend policy, profitability, gearing levels and equity valuations.
- Monitor financial performance and shareholder returns.
- Conduct industry research and analyse competitor and market trends.
- Support oversight of sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives and related stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of strategic initiatives that enhance long-term value.
- Build and maintain financial models to support strategic analysis and investment decisions.
- Engage with a broad range of stakeholders including government departments and senior representatives of portfolio organisations.
- Prepare high-quality reports and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant financial role.
- Degree in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or Commerce.
- Professional qualification or membership with a recognised financial body is highly desirable (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA).
- Experience gained in professional services, advisory, consulting, banking, investment analysis or within a large commercial organisation is advantageous.
