Morgan McKinley is delighted to be working with a leading Irish company in the search for an experienced Category Buyer to join their dynamic team in Dublin.
In this pivotal role within the buying team, you will play a key part in shaping product selection and driving category performance. You'll monitor emerging market trends, work closely with the merchandising and marketing teams to ensure the right products are always available, and manage strong supplier relationships to deliver the best value and quality for customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identify and source new products in line with market trends, customer insights, and company strategy.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms to secure optimal deals.
- Manage product availability based on sales forecasts, promotions, and seasonal trends.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring timely deliveries and resolving supply chain challenges.
- Collaborate with internal teams to refine pricing and promotional strategies.
- Maintain optimal stock levels through effective demand planning and order management.
- Analyse sales and purchasing data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Build and sustain strong supplier relationships through regular communication and review meetings.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in purchasing or buying within the retail pharmacy, FMCG, or related sector.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiation, inventory management, and cost control.
- Proficiency in purchasing systems and Excel.
- Experience within the Health & Beauty categories is a distinct advantage.
