We are recruiting a Quality & Risk Manager to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of quality and risk management systems within a specialist healthcare setting that provides palliative care and older person services. This role is central to ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, clinical governance, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Quality & Risk Management programmes that meet national standards and best practice.
- Maintain and oversee departmental risk registers, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated appropriately.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and complaints, and introduce measures to prevent recurrence.
- Lead the development of policies, protocols, and guidelines in line with HSE and HIQA standards.
- Chair Quality & Risk meetings and provide expert guidance to management and clinical teams.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior leadership on quality, risk, and compliance.
- Build effective relationships with internal teams and external bodies, including regulators and the State Claims Agency.
- Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and learning throughout the organisation.
Requirements:
- A Level 8 (or higher) degree in Healthcare Quality, Risk Management, or a health-related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality and risk management within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and other relevant healthcare quality frameworks.
- Experience in incident management, policy development, and quality assurance processes.
- Proven ability to lead change, manage complex projects, and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Master's degree in Quality, Risk, or Patient Safety.
- Experience with organisation-wide accreditation processes (e.g. ISO, CHKS).
