Our client, a leading organisation based in Cork, is seeking a Newly Qualified Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad industry experience while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will support financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering, while working closely with senior finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Support statutory reporting and external audit processes.
- Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies and procedures.
- Contribute to process improvements and finance projects.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
Requirements
- Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant (essential).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Previous experience in audit, financial accounting or a finance function is desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; ERP system experience is advantageous.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
