Our global tech client is seeking a versatile Localization Project Manager to bridge the gap between technical execution and creative delivery. This hybrid position manages end-to-end projects across Software Localization (Mobile/Web Apps) and Desktop Publishing (DTP).
In this role, you will collaborate closely with Marketing, Creative, and Engineering teams. Your mission is to ensure source designs (InDesign/Figma) are technically structured for seamless translation and manage the full project lifecycle using external vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Champion "Localization-Ready" Design: Act as a technical advisor to Creative teams. Review concepts and guide designers on file structure (layering, styles, segmentation) to optimize InDesign and Figma files for translation.
- Manage Software Localization: Take full ownership of Software, Mobile App, and Web App localization requests from initial brief to final engineering hand-off.
- Hybrid DTP & Asset Management: Oversee post-translation formatting for marketing collateral. Handle quick, internal typesetting fixes (text expansion, line breaks) or coordinate high-volume work with external vendors. Manage digital asset workflows within Figma.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee pre-production software testing, review localized visual assets, and manage Linguistic QA feedback loops.
- Workflow & AI Optimization: Utilize modern TMS platforms to streamline workflows. Leverage AI tools for prompt engineering and automating hands-off between creative tools and translation systems.
Qualifications:
- Project Management: Proven ability to balance rigid software release schedules with dynamic creative marketing campaigns.
- Technical DTP Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, file construction (IDML export, paragraph styles, master pages), and troubleshooting creative files.
- Localization Workflows: Proficiency with modern TMS platforms (e.g., Phrase, Crowdin) and a deep understanding of the full localization lifecycle.
- Operational Discipline: Sharp time-management skills with the ability to decide when to handle file fixes hands-on versus outsourcing to a vendor.
- Languages: Fluent English, plus native fluency in a second language.
