    Morgan McKinley are delighted to be partnering exclusively with our long established client to recruit a Financial Controller.

    The Opportunity

    Our client is a prominent, market-leading distributor within a specialized industrial sector in Ireland. As a key subsidiary of a major international PLC, the company operates large-scale production and logistics facilities across multiple sites on the island of Ireland. Headquartered in Munster, this permanent role offers a strategic platform for a senior finance professional to lead a dedicated team and influence the financial health of a multi-site, dynamic operation

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Financial Reporting & Strategic Control

    • Oversee the preparation of comprehensive monthly accounts, finance reports, and group reporting packages.

    • Maintain sound and robust financial controls across the organization.

    • Perform detailed margin reviews and lead margin forecasting initiatives.

    • Manage balance sheet lead schedules and statutory account preparation.

    • Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting process.

    2. Commercial & Operational Finance

    • Drive working capital management and reporting to optimize business liquidity.

    • Manage FX requirements, including rolling and swapping contracts.

    • Execute detailed cash forecasting and oversee all banking relationships.

    • Manage credit insurance and coordinate the annual insurance renewal process.

    3. Governance & Stakeholder Management

    • Act as the lead point of contact for both internal and external audits.

    • Supervise the submission of VAT returns and review weekly payroll.

    • Serve as the primary liaison for Group-level requests across Finance, IT, and HR.

    • Manage IT site requirements in collaboration with Group IT and act as the EDI point of contact for customers.

    • Oversee Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) audits every three years.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Professional Standing: Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) within an industrial environment.

    • Leadership: Proven experience in staff supervision with the ability to support and mentor a finance team of six.

    • Technical Skills: Strong ERP and Excel skills. Experience with ERP implementations is highly advantageous.

    • Domain Knowledge: Previous experience with AEO audits is considered a plus.
