The Opportunity
Our client is a prominent, market-leading distributor within a specialized industrial sector in Ireland. As a key subsidiary of a major international PLC, the company operates large-scale production and logistics facilities across multiple sites on the island of Ireland. Headquartered in Munster, this permanent role offers a strategic platform for a senior finance professional to lead a dedicated team and influence the financial health of a multi-site, dynamic operation
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Strategic Control

Oversee the preparation of comprehensive monthly accounts, finance reports, and group reporting packages.

Maintain sound and robust financial controls across the organization.

Perform detailed margin reviews and lead margin forecasting initiatives.

Manage balance sheet lead schedules and statutory account preparation.

Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting process.
2. Commercial & Operational Finance

Drive working capital management and reporting to optimize business liquidity.

Manage FX requirements, including rolling and swapping contracts.

Execute detailed cash forecasting and oversee all banking relationships.

Manage credit insurance and coordinate the annual insurance renewal process.
3. Governance & Stakeholder Management

Act as the lead point of contact for both internal and external audits.

Supervise the submission of VAT returns and review weekly payroll.

Serve as the primary liaison for Group-level requests across Finance, IT, and HR.

Manage IT site requirements in collaboration with Group IT and act as the EDI point of contact for customers.

Oversee Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) audits every three years.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualifications & Experience

Professional Standing: Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) within an industrial environment.

Leadership: Proven experience in staff supervision with the ability to support and mentor a finance team of six.

Technical Skills: Strong ERP and Excel skills. Experience with ERP implementations is highly advantageous.

Domain Knowledge: Previous experience with AEO audits is considered a plus.
