Financial Accountant - Cork City - Onsite - Permanent
Overview
Our client, a well-established and growing organisation in the sustainability and energy sector, is looking to hire a newly qualified accountant to join their team in Cork. The role
This is a broad, hands-on position where you will gain experience across financial accounting, payroll, and operational finance, while working closely with different departments across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing company bank accounts, including daily reconciliations and working with internal teams on allocations
- Taking ownership of payroll processing (weekly and monthly) for a growing workforce
- Supporting month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate processing of grant-related documentation and payments
- Providing support across accounts payable and receivable when required
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Assisting with improving financial controls and processes
- Supporting year-end activities and getting involved in ad hoc projects
About you
- Newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar)
- Strong foundation in accounting principles from training
- Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Comfortable using Excel and accounting systems
- Proactive, organised, and keen to learn
- Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team
