Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant for a 12-month fixed-term contract based at their head office in East Cork. Joining an established finance function, the successful candidate will report directly to the Company Accountant and collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders to support the day-to-day operations of the department. As this is a contract vacancy, candidates with immediate availability or a short notice period will be highly advantageous.
Manage the accounts payable function, which includes the processing of supplier and sub-contractor invoices and payments.
Liaise directly with suppliers to resolve queries and ensure all creditor balances remain accurate.
Conduct thorough weekly bank reconciliations to maintain up-to-date financial records.
Verify and ensure the completeness and accuracy of all customer lodgements made to the bank account.
Assist with the compilation and submission of Intrastat returns.
Prepare and reconcile petty cash transactions on a regular basis.
Provide administrative and data support during the preparation and execution of the annual audit.
Undertake various ad-hoc financial and administrative duties as requested by management.
A minimum of two years of experience working within a busy, fast-paced finance or accounting environment.
Possession of a qualified or part-qualified accounting technician certification, or a similar relevant qualification, is preferred.
Strong competency with accounting software packages, with experience in SAP Business One considered an advantage.
Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in both written and spoken English.

A proven track record of managing workloads efficiently to meet strict financial deadlines.
