This is a permanent, full-time position for an ambitious, commercially focused Assistant Accountant to join a small financial team. Siting on a close-knit team, you will provide critical support during key operational periods, including the lead-up to the company's financial year-end. The ideal candidate is someone who values stability, possesses strong accounting fundamentals, and enjoys coming into an office to do great work alongside a supportive team.
Salary: €30,000 - €45,000 per annum

Location: Tower, Blarney, Co. Cork (100% on-site, 5 days a week)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Includes a 1-hour lunch break)
Reporting To: Financial Controller
Core Accounting & Reporting
Assist with month-end processes, financial tracking, and management reporting.
Manage sales inputting, transaction verification, and sales performance reporting.
Handle bank account postings and conduct full reconciliations of cash and bank accounts.
Support the production of weekly and monthly accounts, particularly ensuring accuracy ahead of the August financial year-end.
Payroll & Compliance (Beneficial)
Assist with or process payroll requirements where necessary (payroll experience is beneficial but not strictly essential).
Navigate and utilize ROS (Revenue Online Service) systems for routine submissions and compliance.
Maintain accurate digital and physical financial records using cloud-based or local accounting packages.
Administrative Support
Handle general day-to-day administrative duties to support the Financial Controller and broader finance team as required.
Manage inquiries and maintain organized, detailed financial data spreadsheet tracking.
Experience: Strong general accounting and bookkeeping experience is required. While retail or pharmacy background is a bonus, no specific industry experience is required.
Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and standard MS Office packages. Exposure to accounting systems (such as Big Red Book Cloud or similar packages) is a distinct advantage.
Payroll Knowledge: Prior experience processing high-volume payroll or familiarity with payroll packages is highly beneficial but not a dealbreaker.
Qualifications: Progressing toward or holding a relevant qualification (such as IATI / Accounting Technician or IPASS) is highly regarded.
