The Macro Research Analyst investigates global economic trends, policy shifts, and geopolitical events to inform investment strategies. Key responsibilities include analyzing high-frequency data (GDP, inflation, FX) to create forecasts and actionable insights, developing quantitative models, and producing thematic research reports.
Core Responsibilities
- Economic Research & Analysis: Conducting in-depth research on developed and emerging markets, including monitoring central bank policies and fiscal developments.
- Data Modeling & Forecasting: Building and maintaining quantitative models and dashboards to track economic variables and simulate scenario outcomes.
- Investment Strategy Input: Translating macro views into actionable investment ideas across assets (Rates, FX, Equities) to support portfolio managers.
- Reporting & Communication: Drafting thematic research reports,, and rapid-response, briefs on macroeconomic events.
- Monitoring Markets: Keeping abreast of geopolitical events, policy changes, and financial data to assess market impact in real-time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree holder from the STEM discipline, possessing a strong quantitative background
- At least 3 years of relevant experience of Macro in financial services, trading or governmental bodies
- Strong proficiency in Excel and programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and back-testing.
- Deep understanding of economic fundamentals, econometrics, and quantitative, techniques.
- Good experience in Asia or China
- Ability to communicate complex, economic concepts to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Excellent command of English, fluency in Mandarin preferred
