We are seeking an experienced Company Accountant to join a leading manufacturing organisation in Wexford. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional looking to build a long-term career within a growing organisation. The successful candidate will initially take ownership of the company's accounting function, with a structured development plan and the opportunity to progress into a Financial Controller role over time as they gain a deeper understanding of the business and demonstrate their capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and month-end journals, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Analyse financial performance, variances, and departmental costs, providing commercial insights and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Partner with operational and commercial teams on budgeting, forecasting, product costing, margin analysis, and sales reporting.
- Manage outstanding debtors to minimise financial risk and improve cash flow performance
- Manage credit control, customer credit risk, accounts receivable, and cash collection to optimise cash flow and minimise financial ris
- Monitor cash flow and working capital, supporting treasury activities including foreign exchange and export banking documentation.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, VAT, statutory reporting, customs requirements, and manage the annual external audit process.
- Drive continuous improvements in financial controls, reporting processes, operational efficiencies, and business performance.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial control.
- Manufacturing or operational finance experience is desirable.
- Proficient in ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Oracle, or similar.
- Commercially minded with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
- Hands-on, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
