HR & GA Manager - Global Fashion Retail - Tokyo

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, and offboarding
• Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws, company policies, and corporate governance standards
• Manage HR operations including payroll, benefits, attendance, and HRIS systems
• Lead employee engagement and organizational development initiatives to foster a high-performing, inclusive workplace
• Handle employee relations, supporting conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and coaching for staff and managers
• Oversee general affairs functions such as office administration, contracts, facilities, vendor management, and company events
• Partner with retail operations and senior leadership to align HR and administrative strategies with business goals

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 6+ years of HR and/or General Affairs experience, ideally in retail or fashion
• Strong knowledge of Japanese labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices
• Proven experience managing payroll, benefits, and HRIS systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros)

Soft Skills:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both Japanese and English
• Ability to build trust and relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism

Language Requirements

• Japanese: Fluent
• English: Fluent

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in change management, corporate governance, and process improvement
• Background in supporting retail operations, including workforce planning and staff development
• Demonstrated success in leading organizational development and employee engagement initiatives
