Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, and offboarding
- Ensure compliance with Japanese labor laws, company policies, and corporate governance standards
- Manage HR operations including payroll, benefits, attendance, and HRIS systems
- Lead employee engagement and organizational development initiatives to foster a high-performing, inclusive workplace
- Handle employee relations, supporting conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and coaching for staff and managers
- Oversee general affairs functions such as office administration, contracts, facilities, vendor management, and company events
- Partner with retail operations and senior leadership to align HR and administrative strategies with business goals
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 6+ years of HR and/or General Affairs experience, ideally in retail or fashion
- Strong knowledge of Japanese labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices
- Proven experience managing payroll, benefits, and HRIS systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros)
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both Japanese and English
- Ability to build trust and relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Fluent
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in change management, corporate governance, and process improvement
- Background in supporting retail operations, including workforce planning and staff development
- Demonstrated success in leading organizational development and employee engagement initiatives
