As an HR Business Partner, you will play a strategic role in aligning HR initiatives with business objectives for a globally recognized luxury retail brand. Partnering closely with Japan-based HR teams and business leaders, you will provide end-to-end HR advisory support across retail operations, talent management, and employee relations. This role offers the opportunity to influence workforce strategy within a high-profile international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, update, and implement HR policies, standards, and programs in line with business needs and Japanese labor regulations.
- Drive retail performance by leveraging workforce data, setting clear goals, KPIs, and incentive frameworks.
- Act as the primary HR point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and operational readiness.
- Lead recruitment for mid-career and graduate hires, including interviews, assessments, and role placement.
- Support new hires through onboarding follow-ups and engagement initiatives post-joining.
- Manage employee relations by fostering positive workplace relationships, addressing concerns, and supporting retention strategies.
- Lead performance management cycles, talent reviews, and individual compensation evaluations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- 10+ years of overall HR experience, including a minimum of 3 years in an HR Business Partner role.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and resolve them effectively.
- Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and navigate organizational complexity.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a consultative mindset.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level.
- English: Intermediate to Business level.
