A global investment firm within the investment banking and financial services sector is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to provide end-to-end HR generalist support across APAC. This role carries full HR ownership for the Tokyo office while partnering regionally with key locations. You will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, supporting employee engagement, talent management, and HR operations in a highly international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic HR partner delivering end-to-end HR support for the Tokyo office
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and support talent, performance, and development programs
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and HR system administration using Workday
- Manage HR vendors, validate payroll, and ensure compliance with service and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate HR data while safeguarding confidential employee records
- Administer employee benefits and respond to employee inquiries
- Provide ongoing HR guidance and employee relations support for Tokyo-based staff
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Approximately 5-7 years of experience in HR, HR Business Partnering, or HR generalist roles
Soft Skills:
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with high attention to detail
- Confidence in engaging with stakeholders across different levels and countries
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Intermediate to Business level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting regional or APAC HR operations
- Background in financial services, investment banking, or global professional environments
