Join the Platform & Cloud Services team of a leading global financial services firm as a Haken Linux Platform Engineer. In this role, you will help build, support, and optimize enterprise Linux infrastructure, cloud platforms, and core infrastructure services that power mission-critical business operations. Working within a global Follow-the-Sun support model, you will ensure high availability, performance, and reliability across production environments while contributing to automation and continuous infrastructure improvement.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Linux Engineers, Platform Engineers, Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) looking to work with enterprise-scale technologies in the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) platform services, including clustering, Red Hat Satellite, and Ansible.
- Build, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve enterprise Linux and cloud infrastructure services.
- Provide L2/L3 production support, including incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and on-call support.
- Collaborate with platform engineering, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver highly available and scalable solutions.
- Develop automation using scripting languages and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
- Monitor platform performance and implement improvements to enhance system stability and operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing resources.
- Promote Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8) environments.
- Strong expertise with Pacemaker clustering, Red Hat Satellite, and Ansible.
- Proven Linux troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system administration experience.
- Experience supporting VMware virtualized infrastructure.
- Scripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, or similar automation tools.
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments with high availability requirements.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork within global engineering environments.
- Ability to manage priorities and respond effectively during production incidents.
- Proactive approach to automation and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Conversational
- English: Fluent
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with BlueCat DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM).
- Knowledge of GitOps methodologies and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Experience supporting HP and Cisco infrastructure.
- Experience working within enterprise cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
- Financial services or asset management industry experience is advantageous.
