A top-tier global bank is hiring a Mid-Senior Business Manager to join its Global Corporate Banking platform in Tokyo. This is a high-impact leadership role within the COO / Business Management function, working directly with senior management to shape strategy, drive execution, and strengthen platform-wide performance.
You will act as a central coordinator across business, product, risk, and control teams, ensuring key initiatives are delivered efficiently across a global network. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with strong stakeholder management skills and experience in business management, strategy, or COO functions within global financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Global Corporate Banking senior leadership in Tokyo to drive strategic priorities and execution
- Coordinate across business, product, risk, and control functions to ensure alignment and timely delivery of key initiatives
- Lead cross-functional projects from concept through execution, managing stakeholders, timelines, and outcomes
- Prepare senior-level executive materials by translating complex business, financial, and regulatory information into clear recommendations
- Identify platform-level risks and operational inefficiencies, improving governance and control frameworks
- Support leadership forums, strategy sessions, and internal communications with high-quality documentation and presentations
- Continuously improve business management processes to enhance transparency, efficiency, and overall franchise performance
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Proven experience in business management, COO office, strategy, or similar roles within global banking or financial services
- Strong understanding of Global Corporate Banking or related platforms, including governance and cross-functional operations
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders in fast-paced environments
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong attention to detail and presentation quality
- Ability to produce structured, senior-level recommendations and executive materials

- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- High adaptability and ability to prioritize under pressure
- Proactive, self-driven, and solutions-oriented mindset

Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native-level fluency required

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as a Managing Consultant, Business Manager, or Global Planning professional in a major Japanese bank (Megabank)
- Experience supporting executive leadership and regional/global strategy initiatives
