    Location: Cork (on-site)
    Contract: 12-month Fixed Term

    Overview

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially driven and ambitious Business Development & Events Executive to join a well-established, mission-led organisation operating within the tourism, education, and conservation space.

    This is a newly created position focused on developing a unique events and corporate offering within a high-profile visitor destination. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving revenue through corporate partnerships, venue hire, and event delivery, while contributing to a broader purpose-led mission.

    The Role

    You will take ownership of building and growing a corporate events function, positioning the venue as a leading destination for conferences, meetings, and bespoke experiences.

    Working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners, you will manage the full lifecycle of business development and event delivery-from lead generation through to execution and post-event engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Development & Sales

    • Identify, target, and secure new corporate business opportunities
    • Build and manage a strong pipeline across corporate, public sector, and membership organisations
    • Develop tailored packages aligned to client needs and wider sustainability objectives
    • Represent the organisation at networking and industry events
    • Manage budgets and ensure commercial viability of all activities

    Event Planning & Delivery

    • Plan and deliver a range of events including corporate functions, conferences, and private experiences
    • Oversee the full event lifecycle from enquiry to completion
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure high-quality delivery
    • Support internal events, meetings, and training sessions as required

    Operations & Systems

    • Support or lead the implementation of event booking systems
    • Manage logistics including room setup, AV requirements, and scheduling
    • Maintain high standards across all event spaces and experiences

    Collaboration & Brand Alignment

    • Work closely with marketing and wider teams to promote offerings
    • Ensure all activities align with organisational values and brand positioning
    • Contribute to the strategic growth of the events function

    About You

    Essential:

    • Experience in business development, events, sales, or venue management
    • Proven track record of generating and converting commercial opportunities
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
    • Experience delivering professional events end-to-end
    • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
    • Self-starter with a proactive, commercial mindset

    Desirable:

    • Background in tourism, hospitality, or attractions
    • Exposure to sustainability or ESG-focused initiatives
    • Experience with partnerships, sponsorships, or stakeholder engagement
    • Interest in purpose-led or environmental organisations
