My client, an established manufacturing company in Cork, is looking for an Accounts Payable specialist to join their Finance Team. This role is a contract role and will run until August 2027. This role will involve responsibility for the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments, alongside wider finance administration duties.
The ideal candidate for this role will have 3+ years experience working within a fast paced accounts payable role, with experience in Treasury and Foreign Exchange.
This role is based 5 days on site in the office in Cork City.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase order invoices, completing three-way matching across purchase requisitions, delivery notes and invoices, ensuring accuracy and investigating any discrepancies.
- Managing administrative expense invoices, including approval workflows and processing through the ERP system.
- Processing employee expense claims in line with company policy.
- Reviewing the open Purchase Order report on a quarterly basis.
- Setting up new supplier accounts in accordance with Group policy, maintaining strict controls over new or amended bank account details.
- Supporting month-end close procedures, including completion of reconciliations, reports and checklist activities.
- Processing weekly supplier payment runs, ensuring payments are made in line with agreed credit terms.
- Posting weekly bank transactions, including journals for bank charges and FX contracts, and completing bank reconciliations.
- Producing weekly cash reports for both internal stakeholders and external treasury reporting systems.
- Managing FX activity, including drawdowns and rollovers of FX contracts, responding to FX queries and posting associated ERP journals.
- Completing supplier (creditor) statement reconciliations.
- Supporting the finance team with ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience working in an Accounts Payable role
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle etc.
- Strong organisational and communication skills required.
