Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Lead to manage end-to-end processing for a varied client portfolio. In this role, you will ensure payroll accuracy, manage client relationships, and provide guidance to junior team members in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Portfolio Management: Own and process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for assigned clients from end to end.
- Client Advisory & Service: Serve as the primary contact for client queries, offering guidance on payroll regulations and resolving complex issues.
- Full-Cycle Processing: Handle onboarding/offboarding, tax certificates, pensions, benefits in kind (BIK), statutory deductions, and adjustment files.
- Compliance & Reporting: Prepare, review, and reconcile tax filings, statutory deductions, and payment files to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Process Improvement: Maintain updated client records, optimize internal workflows, and protect sensitive data.
- Team Support: Mentor junior staff and collaborate with senior management on technical queries and process enhancements.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years in payroll, preferably within a multi-client, bureau, or professional services environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of local payroll legislation, tax structures, statutory deductions, pensions, and benefit processing.
- Software & Systems: Proficiency in standard payroll software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and proven time-management skills to handle competing deadlines.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication with experience directly managing client relationships.
- Qualifications: Relevant professional payroll certification is preferred but not required.
