We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to join a well-established manufacturing operation based in Kildare. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced, high-risk production environment.
Reporting into site leadership, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing health and safety standards across the facility, ensuring compliance with legislation, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Irish Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
Develop, implement and continuously improve health and safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Monitor and report on safety performance, trends and key metrics.
Drive behavioural safety initiatives and promote a proactive safety culture across all departments.
Manage contractor safety, permit-to-work systems and site inductions.
Coordinate health and safety training programmes and maintain competency records.
Support emergency preparedness activities, including fire safety, emergency response procedures and drills.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate control measures are in place.
Liaise with external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, auditors and insurers as required.
Chair health and safety meetings and provide guidance to managers and operational teams.
A recognised Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, QQI Level 6 or equivalent).
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, industrial, logistics, warehousing, food production or another high-risk environment.
Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation.
Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence, challenge and engage teams at all levels of the business.
Strong organisational skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
