Our client, a leading multinational group with a strong presence across Ireland and the UK, is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its centralised finance function based in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established shared services environment supporting multiple entities within a large corporate group.
Reporting to the Head of Accounting, Tax & Compliance, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring full compliance with direct and indirect tax obligations across ROI and NI/UK, while also supporting statutory reporting and audit requirements.
The Role
The Senior Financial Accountant will take ownership of the organisation's tax compliance framework, working closely with external advisors to ensure accurate, timely, and technically robust filings. The role also contributes significantly to statutory financial reporting, audit processes, and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all direct and indirect tax compliance across ROI and NI/UK (VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales, VIES, RCT, CIS, etc.)
- Prepare and review corporate tax computations and tax packs in collaboration with external tax advisors
- Prepare tax disclosures for statutory financial statements and quarterly US GAAP reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements under IFRS and FRS102
- Support and contribute to annual audit processes for assigned entities
- Lead tax digitisation and process improvement initiatives
- Maintain and enhance internal controls
- Liaise with Directors, Senior Managers, and cross-functional teams
- Support ad hoc projects and special assignments as required
About You
- Qualified ACA or ACCA with 3-5 years' post-qualified experience
- CTA qualification advantageous but not essential
- Strong working knowledge of UK and Irish Corporate and Indirect Tax
- Experience engaging with HMRC and Companies House
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, Companies Act requirements, and tax compliance
- Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Office and Excel; ERP experience essential
- Oracle experience desirable
