About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Outbound Supervisor to take ownership of the day-to-day pick, pack and dispatch operation across our clients busy fulfilment environment.
Working closely with the Operations Management team, you will lead and develop Team Leads and Supervisors, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately, efficiently and within agreed service levels.
This is a key leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse or fulfilment environment, takes pride in operational excellence and is looking to develop their career within a growing 3PL/logistics business.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the end-to-end pick, pack and dispatch operation across e-commerce and retail orders.
- Ensure orders are processed accurately and shipped within agreed client SLAs.
- Provide clear daily plans and direction to Team Leads and Supervisors.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet workload, volume and dispatch deadlines.
- Act as the link between Operations Management and the warehouse floor, translating priorities into clear actions.
- Monitor productivity throughout the day and address bottlenecks, delays and backlogs.
- Ensure pallets are correctly wrapped, manifested and ready for carrier collection.
- Schedule and manage carrier collections, ensuring sufficient capacity to clear daily volumes.
- Monitor carrier performance against agreed SLAs and escalate ongoing service issues where required.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach and motivate Team Leads and Supervisors to deliver high levels of performance and accuracy.
- Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback and performance support.
- Develop the leadership capability of the team through structured coaching and regular check-ins.
- Oversee staff training, including onboarding, ongoing development, client-specific requirements, carrier processes, scanning and equipment use.
- Support workforce planning, rotas and absence cover alongside the Operations Management team.
Client & SLA Management
- Take ownership of fulfilment service levels and ensure client deadlines and specific requirements are consistently met.
- Liaise professionally with clients regarding order priorities, booking slots, special instructions and queries.
- Monitor client communications and ensure special-instruction orders are correctly identified and actioned.
- Work closely with Goods In and Stock Control teams regarding replenishment, stock transfers and missing stock.
Reporting & Performance
- Ensure daily operational plans and key reports are completed and circulated on time.
- Monitor productivity and order data to identify trends, improve performance and drive efficiency.
- Provide daily and weekly reporting on fulfilment volumes, SLA performance and key operational metrics.
- Attend management meetings and provide operational insight, updates and recommendations.
- Follow up on agreed actions and ensure improvements are implemented effectively.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Review operational processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency across pick, pack and dispatch.
- Work with management to develop and implement effective SOPs.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure the warehouse remains clean, organised and safe.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, company policies, quality standards and client requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- 3-5 years' experience in fulfilment, warehousing or logistics, including at least 2 years in a team lead, supervisory or management position.
- Proven experience leading and developing Team Leads or Supervisors.
- Experience in a fulfilment, e-commerce, retail or 3PL environment.
- Strong understanding of pick, pack, dispatch and carrier processes.
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong reporting, organisational and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- The confidence to liaise professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
- The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to adapt quickly in a deadline-driven environment.
- A strong focus on accuracy, service levels and operational performance.
