My client, a large crypto company, are seeking an experienced and strategic MLRO to own and manage the AML/CFT and Compliance Frameworks for a contract position lasting 3-6 months. The ideal candidate will lead compliance efforts, ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, and serve as the primary liaison with the Central Bank of Ireland and other regulatory bodies. This role requires a combination of expertise in regulatory compliance, strong leadership skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced FinTech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee AML/CFT and Compliance Frameworks, including associated policies and activities.
- Create and execute annual compliance and monitoring/testing plans using a risk-based approach.
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, such as the Central Bank of Ireland, handling inspections, audits, and queries.
- Stay informed of regulatory changes and provide proactive guidance on their impacts, including addressing regulatory initiatives and communications.
- Independently assess and resolve compliance matters, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
- Escalate significant compliance concerns to Head of Compliance as needed
Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years in a similar role within Irish financial services, ideally in FinTech, e-money, or payment institutions.
- Strong experience in KYC, CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, risk assessments, and SAR reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in law, business, auditing, or a related field.
- Professional certifications: Licensed Compliance Officer (LCI) and Financial Crime (AML/CFT).
- In-depth knowledge of eMoney regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in PCF-52/PCF-12 roles.
- Familiarity with European financial services regulations and competitive landscapes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
