Income Protection Claims Assessor - 6 month Contract - hybrid - 1 day per month in Dublin
We're recruiting an Income Protection Claims Assessor to join a busy and supportive claims team working on a portfolio of individual and group protection policies.
This is a great opportunity for someone with insurance, claims or financial services experience who enjoys working in a role that combines analysis, customer impact, and decision-making.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end assessment of income protection claims, supporting customers who are unable to work due to illness or injury.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing new income protection claims and reviewing supporting medical/financial evidence
- Making fair and consistent claim decisions once all information is received
- Calculating and managing ongoing benefit payments
- Reviewing existing claims to ensure continued eligibility
- Considering rehabilitation or return-to-work options where appropriate
- Working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth claim outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Experience in insurance, claims, underwriting, or financial services
- Understanding of risk or protection products (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communicator (written and verbal)
- Able to manage workload, prioritise effectively, and work independently
- Comfortable making structured, evidence-based decisions
Qualifications
- DLDC (Diploma in Life & Disability Claims)
- DLDU (CII Diploma in Life & Disability Underwriting)
- QFA
- APA (Life Assurance)
