Morgan McKinley is proud to partner with a leading organisation experiencing sustained national growth in their search for an experienced and commercially driven Head of Sales. This is a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Management Team.
As the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for leading and expanding the national branch sales function, delivering performance across a growing branch network.
Working cross-functionally with business development, operations, finance, procurement, and marketing, you'll drive strategic growth, build high-performing teams, and deliver exceptional value to customers and stakeholders.
Location: Flexible location within Ireland. Regular travel required for branch visits and meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and execution of the national branch sales strategy to achieve short and long-term growth targets.
- Set and monitor sales goals across all regions, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Manage and coach the branch sales team, including regular performance evaluation and development planning.
- Design and oversee sales incentive programmes to drive performance and uphold service excellence.
- Develop and maintain robust internal and external sales reporting to inform strategy and support stakeholders with actionable insights.
- Partner with procurement and marketing to analyse buyer feedback and identify growth opportunities across key product categories.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute seasonal sales and promotional plans for key accounts.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales and sales leadership roles, ideally within the wholesale goods sector.
- Proven success in driving commercial performance through wholesale sales management.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Solid financial acumen with experience overseeing P&L.
- Excellent influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to report clearly and persuasively to senior leadership, directors, and shareholders.
- Strong team player with the ability to build positive cross-functional relationships internally and externally.
