Our client a long-established distributor of commercial vehicles and spare parts within Ireland and the UK are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Group Financial Reporting. Reporting to the finance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting across the company's multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and compliance with relevant accounting standards. This role is pivotal in managing the group's financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making at the senior management level.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated monthly reports and accounts and annual financial statements.
- Drive process improvements and automation in financial reporting and operations, including system development and implementation.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, ensuring consistency of application and compliance with accounting standards
- Work with the head of commercial finance to develop and improve presentation of financial reporting to ensure maximum effectiveness.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Support the finance leadership team with the annual budgeting process and track actual performance against budgets.
- Support treasury operations, including banking relationships and working capital optimisation, with information and guidance.
- Lead the annual audit process, from planning through to sign-off, including maintaining relationships with external auditors.
- Implement, maintain, and review internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support the CFO with the preparation of board papers and reports.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Qualifed Accountant with a strong background in financial reporting, with minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial management.
- Extensive experience with financial consolidation, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in a large multi-entity environment.
- Proven experience of collaborating with senior leadership on financial strategies.
- Motor industry experience is an advantage.
- Strong communicator with excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and modelling, with strong presentation skills.
