Reporting to the Senior Data Manager, the Data Analyst will support the Senior Management Team by delivering analytical and reporting needs. The role will involve the day-to-day analysis and production of a wide range of insightful management information reporting from multiple data sources. The role will also be responsible for providing advice on and implementing day-to-day data analytics improvements designed to enable the Bank to achieve our strategic objectives. Your focus will be to enable the delivery of a portfolio of strategic, compliance and operational analytics.
You will help solve business problems by improving data quality, data flows and reports delivered to key stakeholders. You will deliver initiatives which build new data management structures and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Data management: Work in partnership with business functions to proactively identify opportunities, resolve problems and gather suggestions which will improve data storage, processing and usage.
- Daily ETL support: Monitor job runs, investigate error reports, resolve common issues and coordinate ticket escalation to 3rd line team.
- BI and ad hoc reporting support: Extract data to manipulate/calculate/format into presentable reports and insightful analysis. Write SQL scripts to query databases and provide requested data.
- Point of contact for business: Coordinate and fulfil data requests, data issues, DQ and documentation requirements.
- Change management: Analyse system changes and their effect on data, reports and reporting systems. Drive efficiency and simplification by challenging and removing process steps or reports that do not add value.
- Project management: Support the continuity of reporting BAU and the delivery of projects.
- IT and technical support for BI applications: Initial triage and proactive coordination of the resolution of problem tickets.
Key Skills
Experience and Requirements
- Educated to degree level in Computer Science or similar disciplines with equivalent experience
- 3+ years data analytics expertise, ideally in a financial services environment
- Experience in data analysis, data management and BI incl. analytical tools
- Strong SQL skills incl. querying databases, manipulating data, blending datasets
- Familiarity with SAP BI tools
- Advanced knowledge of database concepts and design
- Experience with reg reporting frameworks
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong Communication skills to translate complex technical information to non- tech stakeholders Liaising with internal and external customers to manage the development and timely delivery of quality data and analysis
- Ability to promote ideas/solutions with confidence, credibility and sound business rationale
- Ability to integrate with cross functional teams to expedite knowledge of business
- Communicates information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical team members

- Highly organised and capable of working within internal risk requirements and controls
