Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Temporary Accountant to support accounting and reporting activities focused on compensation and benefits accounting across multiple EMEA entities. This role is part of a global accounting team, partnering with cross-functional teams across payroll, HR, tax, and statutory accounting.
The successful candidate will help ensure accurate month-end and quarter-end processes, support statutory audits, and contribute to process improvements while collaborating with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations

Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and flux explanations

Maintain documentation to support accounting conclusions, reconciliations, and internal controls

Support process improvement efforts (e.g., standardizing templates, enhancing checklists, improving reconciliation quality)

Partner with internal stakeholders to collect inputs and resolve open items within agreed timelines

Perform other accounting support tasks consistent with the temporary nature of the role
Non-Negotiable Skills & Qualifications

ACA or ACC qualification with 1-2 years post-qualification experience

Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (corporate accounting, public accounting, or a combination)

Proven experience with month-end and quarter-end close processes

Strong communication skills for liaising with cross-functional partners
Preferred Skills & Experience

Big 4 training or background

Experience in payroll or compensation accounting

Familiarity with multi-entity EMEA accounting

Experience supporting statutory audits
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Working knowledge of US GAAP and standard close processes (journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis)

Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and handling large data sets

Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to meet deadlines

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate status clearly

Reports to the Compensation & Benefits Accounting lead

Team includes 2 FTEs in Dublin and additional global members
