A global insurance company is looking to hire a Commercial Underwriter as they continue to grow their team in Dublin. The company has offices worldwide and provides insurance across numerous products to a range of clients, and they are looking at growing the Irish base out long term with a keen focus on the Dublin office. It's a Hybrid and flexible working set up, and they offer a great benefit package, good pension and annual leave, as well as a performance-based bonus and several other perks.
In the role the Commercial Underwriter will work with corporate clients and be given a portfolio of business to work off, and you will get to deal with brokerages regularly. The role will be new business focused, and they are looking for someone who will turn around quotes in a fast-paced environment. The ideal background for the Underwriter to come from is Property or Casualty, but they will consider people within other areas of Commercial Underwriting with larger clients.
Role and responsibilities:
- Evaluate and underwrite policies within Property and Casualty
- Collaborate with sub-brokers to understand their unique insurance needs
- Deal with corporate clients and manage relationships
- Review risks and underwrite new business
Job requirements:
- CIP qualification or working towards same
- Experience with Commercial Property or Casualty Insurance
- Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and best practices
- Track record dealing with corporate clients advantageous
The working model is hybrid and flexible with good healthcare, pension contributions and a very competitive benefits package overall. They have a real appetite to grow the business and want to hire several people over the coming year to grow out the team. It could be a good option for a Commercial Underwriter who is in an insurer but hasn't quite progressed how they would have liked.
