A great opportunity for an Accounts Payable Team Leads to join a global construction company.
This permanent position is based in Dublin West and offers a hybrid working model, 3 days onsite /2 remote days per week following probation.
The successful candidate will lead a busy, multicultural AP function supporting large projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe. This role is ideal for an AP professional who excels in people leadership, process improvement and driving operational excellence.
Lead, mentor and support the AP team, ensuring clear communication of goals and priorities.
Conduct structured 1:1s, performance reviews and development discussions.
Review team output, provide constructive feedback and promote continuous learning.
Foster a collaborative, supportive environment with balanced workloads.
Manage the full AP lifecycle, including invoice processing, approval workflows, payments, audits and reconciliations.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring accurate and accessible documentation.
Enhance and standardise AP processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Provide hands‑on support during peak periods, staff leave or complex issue resolution.
Process invoices, payments or reconciliations when required to maintain continuity.
Promote cross‑training to strengthen team flexibility and resilience.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all AP month‑end deliverables.
Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Complete AP‑related bank reconciliations and update sub‑ledgers.
Build strong relationships with suppliers and resolve payment queries efficiently.
Partner with procurement and project teams to support smooth approval and payment cycles.
Collaborate with the wider finance function to support reporting and shared objectives.
Monitor and report AP KPIs, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
Support automation initiatives and contribute to system and process enhancements.
Embed best‑practice standards to improve accuracy, efficiency and supplier experience.
Requirements:
Experience leading an AP team in a fast‑paced or scaling environment (Must)
Experience working within a multinational finance structure (Highly desired)
Solid understanding of AP controls, compliance and best‑practice frameworks.
Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP (desired)
Comfortable managing high volumes and tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
Strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
