Web Developer - Contract

Overview

We're seeking an experienced Web Developer to join a leading technology-driven organisation in Cork on a contract basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performing, responsive web applications as part of an agile development team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative digital projects, leveraging modern frameworks and cloud-based technologies in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure web applications.

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers and backend engineers to create seamless user experiences.

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and high-quality code.

• Integrate APIs and third-party services as part of web application architecture.

• Ensure performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing web solutions.

Skills & Experience

• 4+ years' experience in professional web development.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5 and CS3

• Experience with React, Angular or Vue

• Solid understanding of Node.js, Express or similar backend frameworks.

• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with JSON.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

• Experience with TypeScript, Next.js, or GraphQL.

• Background in UI/UX design or accessibility best practices.

• Previous contract or consultancy experience.
