Warehouse Operations Manager

I am looking to speak with experienced and motivated Warehouse Operations Managers in the West Cork / Kerry area as my fast growing client seek to hire a new Manager to spearhead their operation. This position requires a leader with strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and a focus on continuous improvement. The Warehouse Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all warehouse activities, including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and ensuring a safe and efficient workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Management:

  • Plan, organize, and manage the day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, and dispatch.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability, minimizing stock discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement operational policies to improve workflow efficiency and reduce costs.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional development.

• Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure all warehouse operations comply with company policies and legal regulations, especially in regard to health and safety.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions to address potential risks.

• Quality Control:

  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure that all outbound products meet company standards.
  • Investigate and resolve any inventory discrepancies and address issues related to damaged goods.

• Inventory Management:

  • Manage inventory control procedures to maintain stock accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to maintain optimal stock levels and support demand forecasts.

• Process Improvement:

  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to streamline order processing and improve customer satisfaction.

Key Requirements

• Experience:
  • Proven experience in a warehouse management or operations role, with at least 3-5 years in a similar position.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle WMS).
• Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
