Service Technician
Reporting to: Workshop Supervisor / Operations Manager
Function: Workshop Operations
About the Role
As a Service Technician, you will service, test, clean and repair hire equipment and tools, ensuring they are safe, reliable and ready for use. You will help maintain an efficient workshop and deliver equipment to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, inspect, test and carry out minor repairs and refurbishment on hire equipment.
- Identify and report equipment defects, damage and recurring safety issues.
- Follow health and safety procedures, use the required PPE and maintain a clean, organised workshop.
- Complete service checks, testing and accurate maintenance records on the company system.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and ready for hire, and flag warranty repairs or spare-parts requirements to the Workshop Supervisor.
- Support workshop productivity, manage priorities and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver good customer service.
- Assist with other operational duties when required.
About You
- Experience maintaining mechanical or electrical equipment is desirable.
- A positive, practical and solution-focused approach with good problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Comfortable using computer systems and working with numbers.
- Manual-handling experience is beneficial.
