This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RC Foreman to join one of Ireland's leading contractors on a large-scale high-rise residential project in Cork City Centre.
Position: RC Foreman
Location: Cork City
Salary: €70-80k DOE plus bonus, pension, and company vehicle
The main responsibilities include:
- Supervise all reinforced concrete works on site, ensuring they are carried out safely, on schedule, and to the highest standard.
- Coordinate steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, concrete placement crews, and plant operatives to ensure efficient workflow.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, formwork designs, and method statements accurately.
- Work closely with the Site Engineer and Project Manager to ensure alignment between RC activities and the overall programme.
- Ensure quality and accuracy in all aspects of concrete works including formwork, steel fixing, and concrete pours.
- Enforce Health & Safety policies and ensure all operatives are working in accordance with method statements and risk assessments.
- Plan and sequence RC works effectively to meet key project milestones.
- Monitor deliveries and usage of steel, concrete, and other materials to avoid delays and wastage.
- Maintain accurate site records including concrete pour logs, cube test results, and plant records.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party testing agencies to coordinate and quality-check work.
- Ensure all temporary works associated with RC construction are correctly installed and certified.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Strong trade background in RC or civil engineering qualification (advantageous).
- 5+ years' experience working as a Foreman on RC frame or heavy concrete construction projects in Ireland or the UK.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate large RC crews on high-rise or complex builds.
- Deep understanding of concrete technology, rebar installation, and formwork systems (e.g., PERI, DOKA, SATECO).
- Familiarity with temporary works procedures and compliance.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and site discipline.
- Ability to read structural and construction drawings with accuracy.
