This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of Ireland's leading contractors on a large-scale construction projects in Cork.
Position: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Cork
Salary: DOE plus bonus, pension, and company car
The main responsibilities include:
- Manage all cost-related aspects of construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts.
 
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
 
- Monitor project progress and provide detailed financial reports, forecasting and cash flow analysis.
 
- Ensure accurate valuation of completed work and arrange payments to subcontractors.
 
- Conduct cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
 
- Assess, manage and resolve any contractual or commercial risks.
 
- Liaise closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
 
- Support procurement processes and assist in the negotiation of subcontractor packages.
 
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, relevant regulations, and internal company procedures.
 
- Participate in value engineering exercises and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
 
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably on large-scale construction projects.
 
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
 
- Proficiency in ABM or similar financial/project management software.
 
- Strong analytical, financial reporting, and negotiation skills.
 
- Familiarity with Irish construction contracts and procurement procedures.
 
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
 
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional project teams and subcontractors.
 
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
 
- Full clean driver's license.
