Localization Engineer - Contract
About the job
Responsibilities
● Manage end-to-end localization workflows from source code analysis and internationalization
assessment to final multilingual delivery.
● Develop and maintain localization automation tools to streamline translation processes and
reduce manual overhead.
● Integrate AI and machine learning technologies into localization workflows, utilizing prompt
engineering and MT optimization for enhanced content quality.
● Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure internationalization best practices are implemented
during development cycles.
● Optimize Translation Management Systems (Phrase TMS, Crowdin) through API integrations,
custom workflows, and automated quality checks.
● Maintain and enhance multilingual assets including terminology databases, translation memories,
and linguistic resources.
● Conduct technical localization testing including pseudo-localization, UI validation, and
cross-platform compatibility testing.
● Coordinate with language service providers to ensure technical requirements and quality
standards are met.
Key Qualifications
We are looking for the following qualifications and skills:
● A proven ability to execute established localization workflows with technical precision, accuracy,
and strong independence.
● AI and Machine Learning Familiarity: Proficiency using AI tools (like ChatGPT, Bard, or other
Natural Language Processing systems) for multilingual content production. Bonus points for
experience fine-tuning or training Machine Translation engines and working with parallel corpora
or linguistic datasets.
● Programming proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Java for localization automation and tool
development.
● Proficiency with version control systems.
● Translation Management Systems expertise with Phrase TMS and Crowdin (required).
● Strong English language skills (both oral and written) and a native speaker of another language is
a must.
