We're currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering services team supporting clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically skilled, customer-focused engineer to join a close-knit team in a varied, hands-on role with strong long-term career prospects.
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair, and overhaul of mechanical process equipment on client sites, as well as workshop-based support. The majority of customers are based in Cork and the Munster region, with occasional overnight travel (approx. 20 nights per year, sometimes up to a week at a time).
You'll work closely with clients to deliver technical support and build strong working relationships, acting as the trusted technical advisor on site.
Service, repair, and overhaul of mechanical process equipment, including pumps, control valves, and related systems.
Field-based support at customer sites, primarily in Munster.
Occasional workshop-based repairs and equipment overhauls.
Work closely with the service supervisor and coordinator to manage workloads and priorities.
Provide excellent customer service and build lasting client relationships.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality procedures.
Strong mechanical engineering background - trade-qualified or degree-qualified.
Hands-on experience working with pumps, control valves, or mechanical process equipment.
Previous field service experience is a plus, but candidates from a pharma plant maintenance or mechanical services background with relevant product experience will also be considered.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on site.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - this is a client-facing role where relationship building is key.
Full driving licence and flexibility for occasional overnight travel.
