This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS Advisor to join one of Ireland's leading contractors working on large-scale construction projects in Cork.
Position: EHS Advisor
Location: Cork
Salary: €50-60k DOE plus bonus, pension, and company car
The main responsibilities include:
- Support the site team in the implementation of the company's Safety Management System to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and best practices.
- Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring all hazards are identified and addressed promptly.
- Lead the development and delivery of site-specific safety documentation including Safety Statements, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
- Promote a strong safety culture on-site by delivering toolbox talks, inductions, and safety training for all personnel.
- Investigate and report on all incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Monitor environmental compliance and ensure waste management, noise control, and pollution prevention measures are in place and maintained.
- Maintain records of all safety-related activities and ensure timely submission of statutory reports to regulatory bodies as required.
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure their activities align with the overall site safety standards and requirements.
- Keep up to date with changes in health and safety legislation and industry best practices, ensuring continuous improvement of on-site safety practices.
- Provide advice and support to Project Managers and site teams on all EHS matters to ensure high standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g. Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar EHS role within the Irish construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects (residential, commercial, or industrial).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels.
- Competent in preparing and delivering training, reports, and documentation.
- Proactive, organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
